Women Rising in Consciousness

The month of March celebrates Women’s History Month, which grew out of a weeklong celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history, and society organized by the school district of Sonoma, California in 1979.  Women’s History Month coincides with International Women’s Day, which many countries celebrate every March 8.

In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, San Luis Obispo is celebrating its first annual women’s symposium on Saturday, March 12, titled “Women Rising in Consciousness.”  Never before have women held so much capacity to create the future. And on March 12, the Circle of Grace is hosting a symposium for women filled with inspiration, networking and enrichment. Twelve unique workshops are being offered, and one of the greatest visionaries of our time—Barbara Marx Hubbard—will be our keynote speaker.

Barbara Marx Hubbard is an exemplary woman who has made an indelible mark on our planet for conscious evolution. She once stated: “Humanity is facing unprecedented, evolutionary changes. It is amazing—out of the famous Mayan prophecy has come the indication that we are facing the end of this world as we know it and the beginning of the new world by 2012. This date corresponds to environmental and social predictions of breakdowns and breakthroughs now widely known. Let’s assume there is some validity in these prophecies. What vision of the future, of the new world, might we see so that we can place our attention upon this vision as a strange attractor to carry us through this critical transition?”

For the past forty years, Barbara Marx Hubbard has been a pioneer and driving force in the movement to create a positive future for humanity. She has been instrumental in the founding of many future-oriented organizations, including the prestigious World Future Society, The Foundation for the Future, and Women of Vision in Action, just to name a few. Last month, her biography was written by Neale Donald Walsch entitled The Mother of Invention: The Legacy of Barbara Marx Hubbard and the Future of YOU, released by Hay House.

In addition to Barbara Marx Hubbard speaking at the symposium, workshops themes include: Standing in the Power of Who I AM, Women’s Sexuality: Reclaiming & Embracing our Natural Presence, Juiciness & Sensuality, Conscious Feminine Leadership: Embracing Your Role as a Co-Creator in Shaping our World’s Future, Truth and Reconciliation: Evolving Consciousness and Building Community, Honoring the Wise Woman Within and many more.

If you are experiencing an impulse to evolve and make your greatest contribution, then please join us on March 12. For more information on the symposium visit: www.spiritualcircle.org/symposium or call: (805).541-1963.
