New SLO Democratic Central Committee Bring Change

Thomas Gong, Assistant County Clerk Recorder, swore in the newly elected members of the San Luis Obispo County Democratic Central Committee (DCC), at the group’s first regular monthly meeting of the new term, on Wednesday, July 14th. Per the June 2010 election results, a significant number of names have changed on the membership roster. 

Also, that evening, the Committee elected the leadership team that will steer the course through the 2010 elections and prepare for the national election in 2012.  The new officers are:  Chair – Pat HarrisMale Vice Chair – Cory BlackFemale Vice Chair – Susan DevineRecording Secretary – Richard ZamoraCorresponding Secretary – Andrea DevittTreasurer – Marilyn ArmstrongAssistant Treasurer – Susan StenovecCalifornia Democratic Party Executive Board Representative – Cheryl Conway.

The mission of the Democratic Central Committee is to support and elect Democratic candidates and to promote Democratic values and principles in San Luis Obispo County. Chairperson Harris says that she expects a renewed spirit of cooperation in order to accomplish this mission.  “We have a number of new members who bring new energy and commitment and we will build on the strong base that our previous members have created.”  Harris also said that she is counting on former volunteers and others previously involved with the DCC in returning with new enthusiasm to participate in the State campaigns for US Senate and Governor.
