Women’s Community Center Moves

As of September 15, 2010, the Women’s Community Center of San Luis Obispo County has a new address.  WCC has moved downtown to 1124 Nipomo St., #D, between Higuera and Marsh.  “With the growth of our BETTER visitation program, we just needed more space,” said Robin Rinzler, Family Law Programs Coordinator. “And, we will be nearer to the law library and the courts.”
An important factor in the move is the newly formed collaboration between WCC and the San Luis Obispo County Law Library.  The monthly self represented litigants’ divorce clinic will now be held at the law library, located downstairs on the ground floor of the San Luis Obispo Courthouse on Monterey Street, across from the Fremont Theatre.   “We’re very pleased with our new location, convenient to the courthouse and other services,” said Angie King, president of the WCC Board of Directions.  “With the new location of the clinic, we are able to offer our clients more resources to help them navigate the court system.  Meanwhile, we can expand the activities at our office.  We have a great meeting space for our classes and seminars.”
The monthly divorce class, held on the third Wednesday evening of the month, will be held at the WCC new office location, as will on-going interviews and trainings for the visitation program.  The Women’s Press is now available at the office as well.
The telephone number (805.544.9313) remain the same.
