The Peace Bell Tolls For Earth Day

In 1990, the first official International Earth Day was celebrated. It was also the first time for an Earth Day celebration to take place in San Luis Obispo County. Earth Day is the largest, most widely celebrated international environmental event. It is a reminder that we share the same planet. It is a day to think of the environmental challenges we face and how to solve them. Protecting Earth is every person’s and every country’s responsibility. Learning about and protecting this biodiversity is what Earth Day is all about.

The Earth Day Alliance, a nonprofit grassroots group, is working on a Green Living Exp for April 18 in celebration of Earth Day. This is a free public event as the founders intended. If you would like to get involved, call 544-8529.
