The Triple Conjunction and the Raising of Human Consciousness

Currently there is a rare celestial phenomenon occurring in our solar system, a triple conjunction of the planets Jupiter and Neptune, and the planetoid/comet Chiron. A conjunction refers to planets being very close to one another in a particular area of the Zodiac, in this case the latter degrees of the sign Aquarius. As Jupiter and Neptune are respectively the traditional and modern rulers of the idealistic, imaginative, creative, and compassionate, or conversely the confused, unrealistic, escapist sign of Pisces, the blending of these planetary energies is having much influence on how humanity is interpreting and experiencing current events, as well as how we are anticipating the future. 
Briefly, let’s look at the more positive meaning of the planets involved. Jupiter takes information and gives it meaning, reaches for abstract possibilities, and expands our vision of the future. Neptune inspires our need to transcend the ordinary, increases our capacity to imagine a better world, and helps us connect with the qualities of empathy and compassion. Chiron shows us that we not only need to understand the wound of the spirit that we all share, but that we proactively need to embrace the process of healing on both a personal and global level.
The most recent conjunction of these three heavenly bodies took place in September, 1945, in the early degrees of the peace loving sign of Libra. World War II had just come to an end. Especially in the United States, ruled by the planet Jupiter, there was an expansive, optimistic, forward looking attitude toward the future, as well as the need for some type of justice to prevail upon our perceived enemies who had done so much wrong in the world. The Neptune qualities of idealism and compassion were also evident, and Chiron inspired the need for healing the deep spiritual woundedness that had affected all of humanity. The result was the creation of the United Nations, the initiation of the Nuremburg Trials, and the beginning of what would become the Marshall Plan, where the U.S. gave economic and moral assistance to friend and foe alike to help rebuild and renew their countries.
Presently the conjunction is found in another air sign, Aquarius, emphasizing technology, inventiveness, the individual as an evolving social being, and the connectedness of all humanity as a tribe of equals. Aquarian energy is humanitarian and freedom loving, concerned for the goals and aspirations of the collective. This combining of the three celestial bodies, which will be experienced here on earth for the remainder of 2009, is an opportunity to create a vision for the future, set goals that transcend our current state of awareness, and incorporate deep healing work on an individual and global level.
The danger of this conjunction is being overly optimistic and unrealistic, and avoiding the real issues that require both personal and societal healing. Realistically, we are being called upon to do the necessary deep inner work, move beyond our wounded victim nature, and break the cycle of inherited, destructive, familial patterns. This will allow us to tap into the knowledge and higher wisdom that dwells within both the individual and collective unconscious. Of equal importance is to transform our belief systems, to transcend the ego oriented personality, and elevate our ideals as to who we are both individually and as a group. As consciousness creates reality, we need to move beyond our addictive, materialistic, fear based view of both self and the world, expand the process of inner healing, and awaken ourselves, first individually, and then collectively, to our truest authentic identity.
We have arrived at a point in time where there is the need to recognize that we are the collective tribe of humanity, not beings separated by nationality, race, religion, gender, sexual preference, or economic status. Each of us must aspire to our individual and common goals and dreams, create a spirit of altruism, and tap into the wounding of the natural world for which we are all responsible. Mainly, it is time for all seekers of truth to unite on the deep unconscious level, and thereby connect with the higher consciousness that will provide the necessary inspiration and guidance during these challenging times.  Finally, with the emphasis on Aquarian energy, and as we are entering the Aquarian Age, which will last for over 2000 years, there is the need, on the deepest soul level, for each of us to become whole, self actualized human beings, without need for outer validation from societal or cultural norms. There is the need to be authentic, not just eccentric. Each of us needs to become a rebel, a reformer, a visionary, a non violent social revolutionary; a seeker of Truth that is not just our own, but one with all humanity, and the Divine Source.
